Healthcare Uprising
This interview-based podcast focuses on how innovation in healthcare is showing up for the benefit of consumers, regular people, anyone who is seeking a way to be healthier and better manage their health. Finally healthcare is being designed "for the people".
We seek to shine a light on the movers, shakers, and innovators across the industry. This includes everything from the tech and digital-based startups providing care and services, to the academics and the medical researchers changing healthcare from inside our educational institutions, to the clinical, biomedical, and medical equipment organizations bringing innovation to our homes, phones and doctor’s offices. It gives a platform to those who are helping to change how healthcare is accessed, delivered, and experienced, for so many Americans.
And equally as important, to truly add the human side of healthcare to this podcast, we cover alot of human stories about real people and their experiences on their healthcare journeys.
Jeremy and Heather will cover some hot healthcare topics as they arise at the top of some of our pre-recorded episodes. Have an interesting topic or new consumer focused healthcare product, program or service you think we should cover? Let us know.
What's especially unique about this podcast is that you have a healthcare industry veteran coupled with your average Joe American to bring levity, authenticity, and a "real" human perspective to these conversations so they don't get too clinical, to in the weeds or complex that you have no idea what we're talking about.

Today’s discussion is with Monica Rutkowski Grippo, the founder and CEO of Rhea, a community supporting women through pregnancy loss & infertility (in beta). And our vision is bigger: a single, trusted resource for women's health needs. Monica nevers wants any woman to walk alone after pregnancy loss or infertility struggles so the Rhea community was born out of her own personal circumstances where the community she needed and wanted didn’t exist. So she’s creating it. At Rhea, their mission is to empower women to step into their reproductive power.

This episode highlights the ongoing maternal health crisis in the U.S., a troubling reality for such a developed nation. It’s encouraging to see companies like Delfina tackling this issue, especially with a provider-first approach that supports clinicians under pressure. The return of doula support is also powerful—doulas truly can make a difference. For pregnant patients, Delfina offers peace of mind, access to vital information, and early insight into risks like pre-eclampsia.

Endometriosis is far more common than most probably realize, and the fact that it often goes undiagnosed for an average of 10 years is eye-opening. The severity of its symptoms makes it clear that better awareness and management tools are essential. With the rise of technology and AI, apps like Endo45 are meeting this need, allowing people to track symptoms and take a more active role in their healthcare. Just as there’s an app for everything, it makes sense to integrate this approach into condition management. By empowering patients with data, these tools enhance the quality and efficiency of time spent with doctors, ultimately improving care and outcomes.

Menopause isn’t a new thing, but it’s definitely getting a heckuva lot more attention these days. We’ve got decades of conversations that didn’t happen to make up for, and women of a certain age, like Kristina and the two Heathers, all middle age perimenopausal women, are not afraid to scream it from the mountaintops. “I have perimenopause and it kind of sucks!” No holding back on this very candid and hilarious conversation about experiencing menopause in real time. So enjoy the ride, and if you can’t cry, you definitely have to laugh!
